Disney Gets A NEW Annual Pass - Premier Passport

For

those of you who are Disney Level 5ers, you live between the East and

West Coast or you travel to both parks this is the pass for you. It was

announced a couple of days ago that Disney has developed an Annual Pass

that lets you visit ALL domestic parks, the Premier Passport.

This http://media1.delhi.88db.com/del/DB88UploadFiles/2009/05/12/5D37FD31-62C0-4BC2-BE0A-6C117515AB5F.jpg
new pass wil not come cheap. It has a $700 price tag but gets you

access to all US parks in addition to the Blizzard Beach, Typhoon

Lagoon, Disney Quest, ESPN Wide World of Sports and Disney's Oak Trail

Golf Course.

Here

is the breakdown as it stands with the cost of APs at each of these

locations. At Walt Disney World the Premium Annual Pass is $619 and

Disneyland Premium Annual pass is $439 and totals $1058 + tax. So I

guess if you are planning to do both parks this is a great discount for

you. It might be even something to price if you are looking to travel

to both parks in one year.

For

those of you that are already a passholder to both Walt Disney World

and Disneyland you will be sent new annual passes in the mail.

I

have to say that I'm curious to see what kinds of perks and benefits

are connected to these passes. Will it just be a combination of what

each one already offers or will they add in a little something extra?

Currently they say that the benefits are invitations to member only

discounts and special events.

Also,

I'm wondering if they are going to let those who have APs at either of

the parks upgrade to them now and if so how will they figure the

difference in price.

Thank you Bob Iger for giving those ultimate Disney fans what they've been wanting.

Travel Day to Roma, Italia - Day 1

My

trip to Italy started on Friday 12th with a flight at 10:30 am CST. We

had a plane change in Washington DC before landing at JFK in New York.

There we had a layover for a few hours. Since my father traveled to

South America for work so many times that he accumulated more than 2

million miles, just with American Airlines, he's now permanently

Platinum and therefore we could spend the layover in the Admirals Club.

It was a nice quiet place to have to wait for our flight to Rome.

Normally

I fly with Southwest because I typically travel domestically. After my

flight win Finnair last year I was expecting something similar from my

flight - entertainment built into the headrest (music, movies, TV

shows, games, etc.), edible food and good customer service. On Finnair

they come by with hot towels, regularly bring you drinks (including

alcohol for free), good food considering it's on a plane and provide

nice pillows and blankets. This is not true of AA. We went at least 3

hours without seeing anyone who we could even ask for a drink from.

Needless to say I was ready for this 8+ hour flight to land in Rome.

Once

we landed in Rome we grabbed our checked luggage and looked for the

Trafalgar sign since that's who we were doing the tour with and they

provided transportation to the hotel. We located the transportation

guide and waited for others who were also arriving. Meanwhile, we meet

a very nice family from California who had a daughter Sammy, whom my

sister became good friends with over the course of the trip.

We arrived at Hotel Diana Roma

sometime around 11 - 11:30 am and had some free time before our welcome

drink, where we'd meet our tour director, Maria and the rest of our

traveling companions for the week. We decided to do a little bit of

unpacking before taking a walk and checking out parts of the city.

We

first headed to the Hard Rock Cafe. I collect the pins and my mother

collects the Hurricane glasses. Since we were there already we decided

to grab a snack to eat and shared one of the large sampler appetizers.

Our server, Steven wasn't Italian, he was actually Belgium which I

thought was interesting since this was one of our first encounters in

Italy. From there we continued to walk around the city for about

another hour or so before heading back to the hotel for the

get-together.

At

the get-together we received important information about the tour,

optional excursions, name tags, receivers so we could hear the local

guides and met everyone that we'd be spending the next 13 days with,

all while having some wine.

Afterwards

we decided to grab dinner at the restaurant that was right across the

street from our hotel. We order the antipasti which was cheese and meat

and two pizzas, the first a four fromaggio and the other salami and

ham. The four cheese pizza was delicious!

From

there we headed back to the hotel and called it a day since tomorrow

we'd be heading out early and starting our sightseeing with the local

guide.

La mia visita a Italian

So I visited Italy for two weeks and just returned. This week I'll be writing my trip report about all of the places that I visited: Rome, Pompei, Sorrento, Isle of Capri, Assisi, Venice, Burano, Verona, Lugano, Varese, Milan, Pisa, Florence and Siena. I'll be writing about my trip, the food I ate, about Italian eating habits and a couple of interest things that pertain to Disney.

Restaurant Review: Goof's Kitchen at Disneyland Hotel

Goofy’s
Kitchen, located inside the Disneyland Resort is character dining that
serves brunch and dinner. I had heard nothing but great things about
this character dining experience so I decided to book it for brunch
($35.96 - tip included). We arrived on time for our 10:30 am Priority
Seating and checked in. We waited about 10 minutes before we were
called for our photo op with Pluto. Then we waited about 5 minutes or
so before being called for our table. I had expected this place to be
crazy and packed with people considering the wait time. However I was
surprised to find it only slightly busy, nothing like a character
dining restaurant in the World.
Our

server took our drink order of OJ and coffee. We headed off to the

buffet, which had a very large selection of food choices. There was a

hot item counter with food such as scrambled eggs, breakfast meats,

potatoes, enchiladas, even a create-your-own omelet station and more.

Then there was the cold items; salad bar, meat and cheese platter,

fresh fruit, yogurt and more. They also had an area with pizzas (like

Goofy’s house special peanut butter and jelly pizza) and dessert items.
I
started off with the more traditional breakfast item. Bagel with cream
cheese, smoked salmon and onion, biscuits and gravy, breakfast
potatoes, sausage, bacon and fresh fruit. Then it was on to the brunch
type items; meat and cheese, olives, macarroni salad, refried beans and
an open faced enchilada. Everything was very good. The only thing that
wouldn’t get again was the open faced enchilada - it was very bland and
the base was very chewy. Now it was time to get dessert. I went with
the banana crepes, rice crispy tower, bread pudding and peanut butter
and jelly pizza. My favorite was the peanut butter and jelly pizza that
Alice had recommended. She said it was Goofy specialty. If I wasn’t so
full I would have had another piece.
During

our meal we were greeted by Dale, Balloo, Alice, Chef Goofy, Princess

Jasmine and lastly Chip, which all posed for pictures with each of us

since there was no one to take our picture. Dale, Chip and Jasmine all

carried Sharpies and as they came by the tables signed their name on

the white table clothes. All of the characters took time at each table

and were absolutely wonderful. In addition, every hour Goofy goes to

the brunch area and get the kids to get up and dance with him. It

looked like a lot of fun and I might have joined in if I was a little

hungry. Before the end of the meal the photographer comes by with the

photos of you and Goofy. They come with an 8 X 10 of you with Pluto, an

8 X 10 of you holding Tink and (2) 4 x 6 of the Tink picture.
This
is a restaurant that I would highly recommend trying to anyone who
wants a good meal and great character interaction. I will definitely be
returning to Goofy’s Kitchen on my next visit to Disneyland. This
restaurant gets a 4 out of 5 Mickeys.
